Talent is Never Enough

Talent is Never Enough, by John Maxwell, is one book that has impacted my thought process when it comes to my talent and how I use it for God's glory. Maybe this would be a worthwhile read for you?! (Click on the book cover to order it online!) Keep reading for an overview of this fantastic resource - I trust it will bless you! -KJ

“Talent is cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work.”
—Stephen King

In John Maxwell’s valuable new book, Talent is Never Enough, he cites Peter Drucker on effectiveness, "There seems to be little correlation between a man's effectiveness and his intelligence, his imagination, or his knowledge...Intelligence, imagination, and knowledge are essential resources, but only effectiveness converts them into results. By themselves, they only set limits to what can be contained." "If talent were enough," Maxwell writes, "then the most effective and influential people would always be the most talented ones. But that is often not the case."

PRIORITIES

by: Darlene Zschech

Today's article comes from a well-known and powerful voice in the global Church, Darlene Zschech (pictured below). Darlene is perhaps best known as a worship leader at Hillsong Church, and an anointed song writer (including Shout to The Lord). Lately, her efforts have been focused on a project that she and her husband, Mark, started called HOPE:Rwanda. HOPE is a faith-based, non-profit organization that brings together church, government, NGO's, private enterprise, healthcare and individuals, to provide practical solutions to countries devastated by war, genocide and poverty. When you factor in her responsibilities as a mom as well, you can begin to see that there's a huge demand on her time. With that in mind, let's hear what she has to say about "Priorities"...
Enjoy.

Hey lovely people….

Wherever this edition finds you, I pray that you are doing great, whether in the valley or on the mountain top..for our God is so faithful, and is the very best at simply meeting with us wherever we are at.

Today I want to speak to each of you about your priorities, and ask you how you are doing when it comes to keeping the main thing the main thing in your own list of priorities.

God Himself keeps the list fairly straightforward for each of us as He reminds us many times throughout the word, to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, AND to love our neighbours as ourselves. Matt 6 says to SEEK FIRST, the Kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you. Sounds easy…

Living an Authentic Life

By: Sarah Morgan

Today's article comes from Sarah Morgan. Sarah belongs to Hillsong Church and is an active part of their worshiping community. She and her husband, Reuben (pictured below with their son, Jones), live in Sydney, Australia with their family. She is a great encouragement to us as we rely on Christ to direct our everyday actions - the only way to live an authentic life.
Enjoy.

I love that when Jesus wanted to teach us something about worship he used a promiscuous woman to do it. Jesus has this way of shattering our made up images of who He is and the perceptions of God we create in our mind. The bubbles we build around ourselves, the perfect exteriors we like to portray, the things that we wrap up and declare sacred and holy…
